January 2023 Recap
Finishing 2022 together and getting ready to Ring in 2023 in Florida. We spent the first week of January finishing maintenance on the townhouse, visiting family and friends and packing for our trip back home to Costa Rica.
I started the New Year off with my friend Nicole, seeing the best show I have ever seen - Hamilton. If you have not seen Hamilton you definitely should the next time it comes to your area. The show is also on Disney+, if you want to watch it immediately.
It's incredible the scenes they are able to create with just one set.
While exploring the beach the boys found a hole big enough to cover Mason.
Our neighbors, had a kite and took the boys out to fly the kite on windy day. They had a blast.
All smiles heading home 🙂.
We had 12 pieces of luggage returning home 😬. All luggage is finally emptied, it only took a month - lol.
The sunset from out house the first night we were home.
Unknown to me Michael had planned a birthday celebration for 6th of January, which also happened to be the same day we returned home.
As the weekend started, we watched a beautiful sunset and caught up with our friends we missed over the holidays.
We belong to a boat club, where we are able to take a boat out every weekend for a few hours. The captain was awesome and let the kids drive the boat for a little while one weekend.
Pictures from School - The boys attend La Paz, which a private school that focuses community building and outdoor living.
Hunter's kindergarten class is learning about the Sea - El Mar. The kindergartens created starfish to display in the hallway for all the other students to see. Hunter is able to connect his own experiences about sea stars, sea urchins and hermit carbs, to the facts he is learning in class.
Mason is learning about the importance of soil, whats in the soil and how to protect the soil. In one of his science investigations, the kids looked at their lunches to see how much of their lunch grew in the soil. Mason had the most food in his lunch that grew in the soil. He was so excited.
Grayson just loving life at school.
Grayson has developed a love of 'spikey hair'.
I can't wait to see his school photos 🥰😍.
Sometime last year Mason became obsessed with Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. We visited the Van Gogh exhibit in London to learn more about the artist, and he wasn’t impressed to say the least. But he still loves Starry Night. For Christmas we met his lego obsession and love for Starry Night, and got him the @lego Starry Night. It took him about two weeks to finish the Lego, set with some help. He completed about 60% of the set by himself. Michael is going to glue it together, and then we will hang it up. I'm thinking for next year I will get him the 5ft tall Eiffel Tower.
The boys love to build all things. Grayson decided to see how high he could stack some of Mason's firetrucks.
One of many insect friends we have had visit is a walking stick bug. This one is a male because he is rather small, and he has two 'pinchers' on his butt for mating. We learned about stick buys when we visited the butterfly garden in Monteverde last year.
Grayson hurt his leg, Hunter carried him in and took care of him. He got him a paper towel with water, an ice pack and some water to drink.
Hunter's passport is coming up for renewal soon, so we have to go to the embassy in San José. We decided we would fly instead of driving the 5 hours from our house to San José. After our 22 hour trip we decided from now on we will drive.
This is the plane we took too and from San José (not the JetBlue jet).
Grayson made the most out of the trip by playing with his pterodactyl and making silly faces.
On the bumpy flight back, both Grayson and Hunter were able to catch a nap.
